2016 Revision of ASTM F963 was published |

ASTM F963 was updated in 2016 revision on 20th October 2016, and will enter into force 180 days later after its publication. Among the changes, the 2016 revision addresses: 1£©ride-on toys with: a new curb impact requirement, a clarification of overload and stability requirements, and a strap exemption;2£©new labeling requirements for toys that have certain small coin/button batteries, 3£©temperature and current-limiting requirements for lithium-ion batteries, and 4£©new requirements for materials and toys that could expand if accidentally swallowed. 5£©new soaking and compression tests for magnets 6£©new requirements and clarifications related to microbiological safety; 7£©clarifications to heavy elements requirements for toy substrate materials 8£©revised requirements for toys involving projectiles; and, 9£©clarification of requirements and supplemental guidance for impact hazards. As a mandatory toy safety standard, all toys to the U.S. market should comply with ASTM F963. STQ remind you pay high attention on its change. |
