On 29 April 2017, the EU Official Journal published a new Regulation (EU) 2017/752, amending and correcting regulation (EU) No 10/2011 on plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with food. The amendment added a new element Nickel to Annex II-Restriction on materials and articles, and the migration limit for Nickel is 0.02 mg/kg food simulant.

Recently the European Commission drafted an amendment to REACH Annex XVII to ban methanol in windscreen washing or defrosting fluids and denatured alcohol. Methanol in a concentration equal to or greater than 0,6 % by weight in these liquids shall not be placed on the market after date of entry into force of this regulation + 12 months.
